Without having read the description for this book, and if I wasn’t familiar with Rachelle Christensen’s works, I probably would not have picked this book up to read at all. The title made me think that is about a man prone to cheating, not about a man who finds a stray dog and adopts it. Rest assured that there is no cheating involved in this book and the only stray was an adorable part-Labrador puppy.
It was fun how the chance meeting between Jordan and Madison happened because she was walking a dog named Jordie, a nickname that only his sister called him. Though they departed with no way to contact each other again, the fact that the point of view switched from his perspective to hers was a rather significant clue that they would be meeting again.
A fun quote from the book – this is Jordan speaking.
How can I run a billion dollar business and not be able to deal with one puppy?
Overall, the story was fun with an interesting plot. The writing style of this one was a little more stilted than I’m used to from the author. It is hard to put my finger on exactly what it was that made me feel this way. It was a good story, just not up to her usual quality.
This is a stand-alone novel, even though it is part of a series and there are characters who appeared in the first book of the series.
