Dee has always been jealous of the adventures that her best friend, Carlie has gone on while looking for priceless artifacts, but she never imagined actually going on her own. But when she meets hunky Ben at the local grocery store, her whole world is turned upside down.
Newspaper reporter by day, handler by night, Ben has plenty on his plate, which means no time for relationships. That is, until he runs into Deirdre—or Dee, as her friends call her—at the local grocery store.
When Carlie goes missing, it's up to Ben and Dee to save her and uncover the mystery surrounding the elusive three million dollar emerald. Can they complete their rescue in time, or will they be lost to each other forever?
I would like to thank Jaclyn Hardy for giving me this copy of the book. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.

“Whoa. How’d you get your hands on one of those?”
Ben moved the camera to point toward the upper floor. “It’s amazing what you can find on the black market. Or in the classifieds.”
This light-hearted spy story is an adventure taking the reader from Arizona to New York to London and back again with lots of fun-filled banter.
I enjoyed the fact that Dee, the heroine, was not an experienced spy, and was in fact just a college student who ended up in the right place at the right time (twice!) to be able to be a part of the rescue of her friend. Of course, Dee was smart enough to be able to help Ben and just smart enough to get herself into predicaments!
I love the attractive layouts to the pages and the chapter beginnings. I really appreciate when an author makes an effort to ensure the process of reading is enjoyable in addition to ensuring that the story itself is a pleasure to read. And it ends up, the author offers services for formatting books. With this being an example of her work, if you are an author, you might want to check out her website to see about having her help you with this.
I had the opportunity to interview Ben (aka Ed), the hero of the story.
