Katrina White’s garage explodes and she fears someone is out to get her.
Not long after Katrina overhears two people talking about robbing the bank where she works, her attached garage explodes. With the help of her neighbor, Frank Davis, she escapes the burning home after a storage shelf falls over, trapping her beneath it.
The co-owner of Protection Inc. has one thing on his mind for the week of Christmas—rest and relaxation, but when his favorite neighbor needs his help he calls in his team. Unable to turn their backs on someone Frank clearly has feelings for the co-owners agree to help out Katrina.
When things escalate, Frank is certain of two things—he cares a lot for Katrina and he can’t let anything happen to her.
Join the team of Protection Inc. this Christmas where love is in the air even in the midst of danger.

Faith and fiction is a great way to describe Kimberly Rose Johnson’s stories, whether they are romance, cozy mystery, or suspense. Or, what I have officially dubbed today as “Sweet Suspense” to distinguish it from the kind that is more edge-of-your-seat.
I enjoyed reading more about Frank in Certain Threat. This is his story and it starts with him making a blunder that had quite an interesting result. Frank has been such a solid rock through this series and has the kind of strong faith that overflows into the lives of those around him and helps him to stand firm when things around him appear to be falling apart. And, it was quite funny to see his house. If that wasn’t a true bachelor/workaholic pad, I don’t know what would qualify as one!
Katrina, through her uncertainty and fear, had the opportunity to observe Frank’s faith in action. I love the way it called to her, having her seek to know more about how to have a relationship with God without making it feel preachy.
The story is fast-paced, taking place over a very short period. While the action is not described in detail, there is enough that it is clear what is happening. The unknown person who is after Katrina continues to keep them all on their toes.
Certain Threat is part of the Protection Inc. series. While it could stand alone, reading it that way would leave you wanting to know more about the characters. So, if you haven’t read the others in the series, be sure to read them first.
