Katie Prentice has a successful career, a strong church family, and a large group of friends. But she has been alone ever since her beloved husband, Peter, suddenly passed away.
Jackson Sinclair is the newest doctor at All Saints Children’s Hospital, and when he meets Katie, he knows he has to see her again. Katie is intrigued, but the ghost of her husband haunts her, and she may not be ready to move on. Just when Katie feels as if she’s made her decision, Jackson tells her about his past. And suddenly, Peter isn’t the only ghost haunting their relationship.
This newest entry in Melissa Bennett’s “Impossible Grace” series is a sweet Christian romance in which God’s love, grace, and mercy are demonstrated by the characters in real, heartfelt ways.
I would like to thank Melissa Bennett for giving me this copy of the book. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
This is the first story I’ve read by Melissa Bennett so I wasn’t sure what to expect, other than the excerpt I read from the first story in the series to see if the writing was interesting.
What I found is a new author who clearly has a heart for sharing her faith through her writing. Veiled Blessings is a story of overcoming grief, of hope, and forgiveness.
One of my favorite scenes was the one where Katie met Jackson at the hospital for their planned date and found him reading to the children in the oncology ward. The way the children received her and the way they both played with them, cared for them and loved them was so very sweet!
The writing style was interesting and the plot was well conceived. I enjoyed the dialog between the various characters as well. There were a couple of parts where I wanted the story to move forward more quickly than it did and where it felt like things were dragged out a mite longer than I would have preferred but overall it was a very enjoyable story.
If you enjoy Christian romance, I encourage you to read Veiled Blessings.
