This is the first story I’ve read by Melissa Bennett so I wasn’t sure what to expect, other than the excerpt I read from the first story in the series to see if the writing was interesting.
What I found is a new author who clearly has a heart for sharing her faith through her writing. Veiled Blessings is a story of overcoming grief, of hope, and forgiveness.
One of my favorite scenes was the one where Katie met Jackson at the hospital for their planned date and found him reading to the children in the oncology ward. The way the children received her and the way they both played with them, cared for them and loved them was so very sweet!
The writing style was interesting and the plot was well conceived. I enjoyed the dialog between the various characters as well. There were a couple of parts where I wanted the story to move forward more quickly than it did and where it felt like things were dragged out a mite longer than I would have preferred but overall it was a very enjoyable story.
If you enjoy Christian romance, I encourage you to read Veiled Blessings.
