Allie Cranston has been planning her perfect Christmas wedding since her parents split up. Her family spent many holidays at Christmas Inn with their good friends, the Bowmans. Allie stubbornly believes that having her wedding at the inn will erase the hurt feelings keeping her loved ones apart. Absolutely nothing is going to get in the way of her perfect wedding…nothing. Not even the fact that her groom hasn’t shown up.
Dirk Bowman has stood by Allie through thick and thin. He always hoped she would recognize his steadfast love. But Allie’s wedding at Christmas Inn is his last act of support. He’s moving to the west coast and starting a new chapter in his life…far from Allie and the battling Cranstons.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
Allie craved a marriage full of love and respect – everything her parent’s marriage had lacked. And this drove a small obsession for having the perfect wedding in the perfect setting. She just forgot that she also needed to select the right groom…
I have to confess that seeing the title of the story, I expected much more in the way of theatrics. If it wasn’t for the fact that I have read many of Tanya Stowe’s stories, trust her, and enjoy her writing, I wouldn’t have considered reading this one at all! But Allie’s version of being a bridezilla wasn’t as much of the tantrum-throwing as it was just plowing ahead, not seeing what her obsession with making everything right for her family and friends was actually doing to them.
Christmas Bridezilla is a sweet story about learning the true meaning of love. The kind that doesn’t consider its own needs and wants above the wants and needs of others. There are subtle spiritual references.
Readers who enjoy sweet romance set around a Christmassy theme will enjoy this novella.
